It was with a crowded room that, on the 17th, the awards ceremony of the 1st edition of Vapesol Academy, at Casa das Artes in Felgueiras, was held, an initiative in the field of Social Responsibility that was created with the objective of encouraging, by rewarding, those who , focused on the footwear industry, strive and do their best.
For this first edition, the candidates presented a design of men’s or women’s footwear for Autumn/Winter 20/21 and the respective prototype, which integrated soles from the Vapesol collection. This initiative was attended by the students of the Professional School of Felgueiras, the Professional Training Center of the Footwear Industry, poles of São João da Madeira and Felgueiras, and the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave.
There were 54 project submissions, all with great quality, which made it difficult for the jury, which was composed by a collaborator of Vapesol, an element of APICCAPS and also by fashion designer, Diogo Miranda.
The first prize was awarded to Pedro Rocha of the IPCA and the 2nd to José Pedro Teixeira of the Professional School of Felgueiras.
In addition to a cash prize, the 2 finalists will attend the Lineapelle International Fair, which will take place from October 2nd to the 4th in Milan, where they will have their projects displayed at the Vapesol stand.
